Single Degree (Urban Design and Sustainable Revitalization): Students and faculty can submit suggestions for thesis topics. The approximately five-page exposé of the master's thesis topic should contain the following as an initial proposal: problem definition (practical and/or scientific), research questions, research design/methodology, local/regional case study or design area, first and second examiners. The student then coordinates the topic of the master's thesis with two lecturers or researchers as examiners and presents the thesis ususally in a public colloquium at the university with the examiners. Double Degree (Urban Design – Revitalization of Historic City Districts): The Thesis is to be accompanied by two professors from different Universities of the double master programme. The first supervisor (Professor) must be from the home university. The scientific written part must describe the problem, which should be solved, the goal and the status of planning and research concerning the topic.
