Inhalte

• Reading and understanding texts, understanding listening texts • Practising grammatical structures (question formation, conditional sentences, comparison, relative clauses, tenses of present, past and future, modal verbs, passive, infinitives and gerunds, reported speech) • Improving writing skills (note taking, short essays, job applications, chart description, product and process descriptions, formal and informal correspondence) • Leading and participating in discussions

Lernziele

At the end of the module the students are able to understand contents from everyday topics like work, school or leisure expressed in clear standard language. They can write short texts concerning topics of personal interests, describe events or goals and give short explanations for opinions or proceedings. They will also be able to prepare and take part in job interviews and discuss topics of their own professional area of expertise.

Prüfungsleistung

• 12 written tests (45 min each) • Every test accounts for one-twelfth of the final grade
