Inhalte

• Understanding texts • Acquisition of typical technical terms • Improving writing skills (note taking, descriptions, job applications, formal correspondence, writing reports, chart description, structure and style of scientific texts) • Improving oral skills (participating in discussions, meeting people, interpersonal skills, giving presentations, telephoning, presenting products, negotiating) • Preparation of typical documents and application of typical strategies in a simulation game (founding one's own company)

Lernziele

Students will acquire and consolidate fundamental skills which they will need in their professional life. Major emphasis will be placed on skills which the participants need to master typical situations in oral and written form appropriately.

Prüfungsleistung

• a test (60 minutes), 25% of final grade • a 15-minute presentation, 25% of final grade • a written report (2 pages), 25% of final grade • a complete folder with several documents, 25% of final grade
