Voraussetzungen

Empfohlen, im Wortlaut

The following modules are recommended: • 13964 Geothermal Energy • 11238 Geophysikalische Untersuchungsmethoden

Inhalte

Geological 3D-structural Modeling • This module provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in geological 3D modeling. Participants will learn to integrate geological data from various sources to create accurate three-dimensional subsurface models. The course covers advanced techniques for visualizing and interpreting geological structures, stratigraphy, and petrophysical properties for both, the deep and the shallow subsurface. Integration into Building Information Models: • A key focus is placed on the interdisciplinary integration of geological models within the framework of Building Information Modeling (BIM). Students will explore how 3D geological models support decision-making in geothermal projects by improving spatial understanding, risk assessment, and resource management. The module also addresses the use of digital workflows and software tools that enable seamless collaboration between geologists, engineers, and planners in the design, construction, and operation phases of geothermal installations.

Lernziele

By the end of the module, students will be able to: • Develop detailed geological 3D models using state-of-the-art modeling software • Interpret geological data relevant to geological modeling • Collaborate across disciplines using digital tools to enhance modeling results and implementations in e.g. geothermal resource assessment • Apply 3D modeling techniques to optimize geological resource management

Prüfungsleistung

• Model documentation, 15 pages (20 %) • Modeling results, ~15 min. (40 %) • Project presentation, ~15 min. (40 %)
