Contents
Introduction and terms, principles of information retrieval, multimedia information retrieval, feature transformation, distance functions, search algorithms, index structures, query languages. Acquired knowledge will be applied within a project.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the module, students will have in-depth knowledge of how retrieval systems work for searching multimedia databases and will be able to apply them practically.
Assessment
Prerequisite: • Successful completion of practical training tasks and exercise tasks Final module examination: • Written examination, 90 min. OR • Oral examination, 30-45 min. (with small number of participants) In the first lecture it will introduced, if the examination will organized in written or oral form.
