Antenna Design Laboratory II
Antennendesign Praktikum II
6 CPWinterEN
Prerequisites
Recommended, as written
Knowledge of the content of the following module: • 14318 – Antenna Design Laboratory I • 14317 – Antennas II
Contents
• Practical design and layout of an antenna array, selected from the antenna configurations in the module “Antennas II”. • Investigation of the impact of the geometrical parameters of an antenna array and substrate materials on the characteristics of the array using a 3D field solver • S-parameter and radiation pattern measurements • Documentation of results
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the module, students will be able to model, simulate and analyze simple arrays of an antenna configuration using a 3D field solver (e.g. Ansys HFSS). They will also be able to create layouts of the antenna arrays and perform both S-parameter and radiation pattern measurements.
Assessment
• Practical design, approx. 10 pages (60%) • Presentation with professional discussion, approx. 25 min. (40%)
