Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to: Chemistry: Explain atomic structure, bonding, and stoichiometry in biological contexts. Analyse chemical reactions, equilibrium, and thermodynamics in living systems. Apply concepts of organic chemistry to biomolecules. Physics: Apply mechanics, wave, and energy principles to biological processes. Understand the roles of electricity, magnetism, and optics in health sciences. Biophysics: Explain thermodynamics, diffusion, and protein folding in biological systems. Use biophysical techniques like electrophoresis and centrifugation. Integration: Solve interdisciplinary problems by combining principles of chemistry, physics, and biophysics. Demonstrate readiness for advanced courses in biology, microbiology, and virology.

Assessment

Written exam (120 min.), consisting of three equally graded parts i.e., Chemistry, Physics and Introduction to Biophysics
