Array Signal Processing
Array-Signalverarbeitung
6 CPWinterEN
Prerequisites
Mandatory, as written
• No successful participation in module 14056 Array-Signalverarbeitung
Recommended, as written
Solid understanding of linear algebra, statistics, and probability theory
Contents
• Applications of Array Signal Processing • Arrays and Spatial Filters • Linear Arrays and Apertures • Planar Arrays and Apertures • Space-Time Processes • Waveform-Estimation • Adaptive Beamforming • Parameter Estimation • Novel Methods The contents are supplemented by solving problems and experiments in the exercise class.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the module, students know the use of array signal processing for various applications such as radar, sonar, and communications technology. They will be able to design, analyze and evaluate different geometries of arrays. Students can reproduce and compare the fundamental signal models in array signal processing. They also know different algorithms for array signal processing and can apply them. The students can assign new methods in array signal processing.
Assessment
Prerequisite: • Successful completion (at least 50%) of each exercise sheet Final module examination: • Oral examination, 30-45 min. OR • Written examination, 90 min. In the first lecture it will be announced, whether the examination will be in written or oral form.
