6 CPWinterENno longer offered

Contents

The module begins with a intercultural seminar in English and German that is offered by the guest lecturer from TU Wroclaw. The seminar will not only present the facts about polish history and culture as well as political and social system, but will also offer the views on the mentality and the perceptions of Germany by the polish people. Moreover, some language ice-breaker will be offered in polish language. A similar seminar takes place in Breslau for the students enrolled there. In the following summer semester a 5-7 day student excursion will take place either in Poland or in Germany. It will offer not only technical, economical or ecological aspects, but will also allow gaining some practical cultural experience. An important experience element is an independent and informal communication with another side.

Learning outcomes

The students will develop an intercultural understanding of East Europe and through the excursion in the field of power engineering in Germany or Poland will receive a broad overview of the working methods in both countries. Through this module the students will develop a deeper understanding of historic, cultural, political, social and economic relationships, that will stimulate a more responsible action within a German-Polish neighbourhood.
