Antennendesign Praktikum
6 CPSummerENno longer offered
Prerequisites
Mandatory, as written
Passing the module examination of module • 14028 Antennas oder • 14084 Antennen
Recommended, as written
Knowledge of topics of physics and electrical engineering at a level corresponding to the first four semesters of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or corresponding to the level of a Bachelor’s degree in physics
Contents
• Basic concepts of antenna design • Introduction to modelling and simulation of antennas with 3D field solvers (e.g. Ansys HFSS) • Practical design of basic antenna configurations, e.g. for 5G, radar • Introduction to antenna measurement
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the module, students will be able to design and analyse basic configurations of antennas and will also be familiar with the basics of antenna measurement. They not only know how to acquire scientific knowledge, but are also able to place physical phenomena into a more general context and explore connections between the various topics. In addition, students possess personal skills such as the capability for teamwork, precise reasoning, perseverance and openmindedness.
Assessment
• Practical design, ca. 10 pages (30%) • Presentation, 20 min. (10%) • Oral exam, 30-45 min. (60%)
